O.K. this gave me a flashback to those 1950s cold war videos that they showed to school children. When the siren that a nuclear warhead is tracking to hit the wooden schoolhouse sounds, get under your desks for safety.

I think there's actually some truth to that concept. It's the same logic as the old westerns where a card table was protection against bullets.

Or in TJ Hooker where William Shatner and his toupee (the Shatner turbo 5000) were protected from the bullets hiding behind the thin sheet metal of their squad car door.

I'm guessing they're either testing for radioactivity, or preparing to fight off the aliens. Maybe they're reenacting The Day the Earth Stood Still? Godzilla?

Nope, that's New Mexico. The one with the can on his face is my dad...of course! You know I would have insisted on wearing a can on my face, too.
