Blight at the End of the Tunnel

My eyelids grow heavy.

My head bobs.

My mind wanders.

The life is slowly sucked out of me.

There is no escape. Worse, there is no lunch.

Yes, I am taking corporate audit training.

That explains that giant sucking sound I heard earlier ... The most boring part of my job, reading about other folks sitting in corporate audit training while I am at work ... (smiles).

Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't have anything creative this morning, so that's all you get.

I'll try to be back to mediocre tomorrow.
My job is not really that boring. I get a little bored when I have to do admin work. I hate admin work.

Like responding to your email?

I can see you really hate that.

Or maybe you just hate me.
Ugh - so sorry. For me it's listening to the same beginner piano songs OVER AND OVER again for YEARS!

I remember piano lessons.

I was supposed to practice for 15 minutes a day at home.

I would set the timer on the microwave for 7 minutes, and then cry the entire time.

You could say I'm not very musical.

Although I do remember my C scale. And the Pink Panther.
I find children to be a real drag. Seriously, so boring.

Perhaps you should become an auditor.
I don't really have a boring part of my job right now. I do get really sleepy in the morning on my commute to work.... usually I'm on the road at 6:30 or so, and that is way to early for me. :)

6:30 comes twice a day?
The most boring part of my job is waiting for emergencies to happen on the weekends. It's much more exciting when somebody behaves in such a way that my team and I feel compelled to engage a person in conversation (always entertaining) or at least put them under surveillance. It also cranks the adrenaline when when someone radios us for medical response. A completely dull, safe, incident-free weekend yields no fun stories, but it's what we always pray for.

Or maybe the most boring part of my job is attending the often useless weekly meeting. Or, it might be refurbing PC's with a new OS so they can be functional again. Or, it could....

I want to hear some of your stories!
OK, so the other day, I was dropping Win7 on to an old Optiplex 320...
Security stories!

Was it one of those little space saver towers where the capacitors blow up?
Showing coworkers how to create a folder on their computers or how to right-click on a laptop. IT isn't even my job. I'm the marketing director. But since I know how to do those things and usually have candy...

If you have candy, I'd be asking you how to right click too!
